Petra is self-taught and works primarily in coloured pencils and pastels, using various surfaces with techniques, to capture the essence of the subjects. Her art is recognised for its exceptional fine detail, vivid colours and lifelike capture. She is particularly able at bringing her subject's soul into her portraiture though its eyes.
